Vale Pauline Nelson

Pauline joined the Rosanna Bowling Club in July 1979.  Although she was an excellent swimmer in her younger days, Pauline had never been involved in organised sport, however, her parents-in-law, Harry and Verna Nelson, who were foundation members of the Club, encouraged her to take up bowls.

A left-hander she was initially coached by the late Ron Burgis and gradually became a most competent bowler, playing for many years in Rosanna’s higher sides.

Pauline was unable to continue playing bowls some years ago due to ill-health, but not before tallying up 505 midweek pennant games for Rosanna since joining the Club.

Pauline participated on various committees and had so many friends and happy memories from her time at Rosanna.

Pauline passed away on 25 March, 2023, and is survived by her husband, Kevin, who is a Life Member of Rosanna BC, and two children.
