Very short report today as it involves only our first side in Midweek Pennant. We had to play Ivanhoe as they accounted for Preston-Reservoir on Tuesday. The good thing was that we played them at Rosanna. Even though we finished up losing two rinks, our third rink more than made up the difference, and Rosanna now goes back to Moonee Valley for the Sectional Grand Final next Tuesday.
We will have to work hard as the Valley is a strong team, however, they are not unbeatable and with plenty of determination and application we can turn around last Tuesday’s result.
It was not an easy win yesterday, although we finished 15 shots in front, and the last end of one rink did not need to be played, but with half a dozen ends remaining, Ivanhoe drew to within 6 shots, so the pressure was on. Damian Crea’s rink decided enough was enough, and picked up 10 shots in two ends to ease the pressure and ensure Rosanna made the GF.
Warren Williams, Margaret Hunt, Kevin Meade and Gwenda Bail (18 -19).
Alan Mason, Don Casey, Veronika Crea and Jack Dunbar (13 – 23).
Damian Crea, Phil McMahon, Jeff Cook, and Mil Crea (37 – 11).
Rosanna 68, Ivanhoe 53.
An interesting observation is that Damian Crea’s rink were belted on Tuesday (8 – 29), but had a complete form reversal yesterday with a 37 – 11 victory. Happy juice??
In signing off, as I keep saying, “the reward of a thing well done, is to have done it”.
Let’s all do it. See ya!
The Tout.
