Victorian Open

A late update on today’s earlier post re yesterday’s events. Aaron Van Haaften and Rod Kerrison had made it through to the Finals in the Men’s Singles . Rod came up against Andrew Burton (Frankston) and in a thriller went down by a single shot, 20/21. At one point mid-way through the game Rod was 6 shots behind, but came home with a strong challenge to be just pipped at the post. Really good stuff, and stiff to miss the next final.

Aaron Van Haaften was on the same path as Rod and played Chris Ward (Ferntree Gully) in his first final. Again, in another thriller, Aaron got the chocolates, 21/20. This put him into R2 of Finals and he went head to head against Gareth Drusko (Flemington/Kensington) who proved to be too strong on this occasion, winning 7/21.

Our boys were not disgraced by any stretch of the imagination and are helping put Rosanna on the map. Congratulations on your efforts.

Overall it has been an excellent competition for the Rosanna players with multiple appearances in Finals games.
