It’s Back – Social Saturday Bowls.
What a beautiful day to recommence Saturday social bowls. Twenty-four people came together on a magnificent Saturday afternoon for some fellowship and fun bowling. The green was running beautifully and some magnificent bowls kissed kitty. The Coach tried to claim the prize money because he had two tied games, and reckoned that it was harder to do that, than win two games, so his team should be declared the winners. Alan Lawrence, Brian Tipping and Jack Dunbar (always looking for a quid) would not have a bar of that and claimed the prize money with 37 points. Well played. Colin Watson, Paul Bassett and Sue Ferguson, did well to finish second on 31 points for the minor prize. The best second game winners (having lost their first game) were Leo Bosso, Mick Tilley and Bob Dunbar with 20 points, so well done them.
If you weren’t there, it was probably for good reason, however, I would urge you to come along for a bit of fun and good fellowship.
Next Saturday there will be no social bowls as the Club Triples Championship will be contested in a new format, however, it should be a fun day. Commencing at 10:00am there will be three games of ten ends each, with a few surprises thrown in. Don’t forget to bring your lunch.
Next Wednesday is the resurrection of Wednesday Nominated Triples if we get enough entries. If you don’t want to put together your own team, please enter as an individual and we will slot you in somewhere.
Good bowling everyone.
