Round Three Midweek

Hello Bowlers,

Round three has been completed with Rosanna’s three teams all winning.  It is a great start to the season for the Club and currently we are very well positioned on the ladders.  The First side is in third spot only on percentage, sharing with Strathmore, both on 30 points.  The Second side sits on top of their ladder with 39 points, two ahead of second placed North Balwyn.  The Third side also sits on top of their ladder with 43 points, eleven ahead of City of Heidelberg.  Still a way to go in the season, however, it is a great start and with positivity in our approach we could see all teams fronting up to finals.

Yesterday the First side went to Buckley Park and had a two up,one down win beating their opponents by 17 shots, gaining 14 points.

Gwenda Bail, Kevin Meade, Jeff Cok and Damian Crea 18 – 19, minus 1.

Chris Ball, Tony Campbell-Burns, Jim Gregory and Alan Mason, won well with 11 shots up, 23 – 12.

Robin Doherty, Margaret Hunt, Peter Livingstone and Warren Williams 25 – 18, 7 up.

The Second side stayed at home and hosted Eltham.  They did it a little bit harder with two rinks down, but the winning rink carried the day for Rosanna, getting us across the line by one shot, but that’s all it needs.

Rob Barclay, Lorraine Campbell, Veronika Crea and husband Mil were the backbone winning by 8 shots, 23 – 15.

Louisa Hemingway, Colin Watson, Nicole Carriero and Leo Bosso went down by 6, 18 – 24.

Jack Dunbar, Phil Hynes, Peter Bell and Glenn Lyons were two shots short of a win going down by one, 22 – 23.

The Third side went to Heidelberg Golf and battled it out on their carpet to secure a two up, one down victory.

Kevin Nelson, Tony Canty, Ken Barr and Don Casey, 22 – 18.

Terrye Meade, Rob Hunt, Russell Hyde and John Head, 14 – 22.

Noel Broadhurst, Alan Phillips, Ray Prestney and Kay Plain, a nice win with 9 shots up, 24 – 15.

Best winning rink was Chris Ball, Tony Campbell-Burns, Jim Gregory and Alan Mason, 11 shots up.

Milestones on the day were Gwenda Bail playing her 500th Midweek game – wow – and Russell Hyde his 150th.  Well done you two.

Next week the Ones host Strathmore, the Twos go to Diamond Creek and the Threes play City of Heidelberg away.

Keep ’em rolling.
