Hello Bowlers,
Oh dear, oh dear! Not a good week for the Twos and the Fours, their results meaning there will be no finals appearance for them, however, the Ones and Threes had very good wins ensuring that both will play in finals, no matter next week’s outcomes. The Twos must win next week to avoid relegation. They are 6th on 104 points, with 7th placed Templestowe three points behind them, and 8th placed Montmorency only 7 points in arrears. Rosanna play Templestowe at home which should be an advantage, whilst Montmorency play Eltham, who are 4th, at Mont. So, it’s quite tight in the relegation area and beating Templestowe will ensure Rosanna remains in Div. 4. The Fourths are in a similar position in that they are 6th on 102 points, and come up against first placed Auburn at Rosanna, which will be a hard task. Seventh placed North Balwyn (98 points) host third placed Donvale (134 points) and 8th placed Templestowe will remain in that position no matter what. If Nth Balwyn win and Rosanna loses, we face the chop and slipping back a Division. That says there is plenty to play for in the last round for the Twos and Fours. Let’s rise to the occasion Goannas.
Worst case scenario for the Ones, depending on all results from the round, is that they could finish fourth and have to play their elimination final away from Rosanna. Conversely, again depending on results, they could finish 2nd and have to play their first final at Diamond Creek, where they will play next Saturday. The Threes have a good opportunity of holding 2nd spot, however, could slip to 3rd, again depending upon other results, if they lose in a worst case scenario. Looking ahead next week is going to be a big week for all four sides. It would be comforting to think that everyone concerned next Saturday will be at their peak for a big finish to the home and away fixture.
The First side had an excellent win against Eltham 1 yesterday. All rinks up for the first time this season, indicating the Selectors may have finally found the right combinations, but better than that, that everyone is finding form at the business end of the season. Well done.

The Second side went to Eltham and sadly had a bad day, Only one rink showed any resistance in a result that leaves the side in a precarious position. They have a big chance next week to atone and avoid relegation.

Side Four travelled over to Box Hill RSL and played on their concrete synthetic, in a disappointing day. Like the Twos, only one rink managed a win, leaving the side hanging on a thread next week relative to relegation.

There were two milestones this week with Damian Jardine playing his 100th club game for Rosanna, and Alan Phillips his 250th. Great achievement gents, and hopefully there will be many more.
So there it is folks. A big week next week for all teams and the Rosanna Club. Hit it with everything. Have a great week.
And something for you to ponder as you head into next week – To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit, the target.
Keep ’em rolling.
The Lizard.
