Round Thirteen Midweek Pennant

,Hello Bowlers.

Well, the penultimate round has been played and Rosanna had a great result, with all three teams having wins. The First side kept us biting our nails, but got over the line by one solitary shot. The Second side had it a little easier, and won by 23. The Third side had it a little easier again, and won by 33. One round remaining folks, and it would appear that Rosanna will feature all its Midweek teams in at least the first final. Where the teams finish will depend on next Tuesday’s results, but the Second side cannot be displaced from No.1 spot, thus will play their first week’s final at Rosanna, against any of City of H’berg, H’berg Golf or Ivanhoe, depending on the last round results.

The First side are currently third. If they win next Tuesday, they will jump to second and will play Essendon, at Essendon, in their first final. If they lose they will remain in third place and play either Preston-Reservoir, or Ivanhoe, at Rosanna, in an elimination final.

The Third side cannot be dislodged from first possie and will play either Kingsbury, or Bundoora, at Rosanna, which means we may have the three sides playing at home on the 25th February.

It is a very good achievement and the Club congratulates the three sides on attaining the first goal of making finals.

The best winning rink was shared between two rinks in the Second side. Jim Gregory, Paul Gregory, Eddie Sheean and Rob Barclay with 16 shots up, and Peter Bell, Ralph Moulden, Colin Watson and Robin Doherty, also 16 shots up.

There were two Milestones to be celebrated yesterday, Eddie Sheean, 100 midweek games, and Nicole Carriero, 50 Rosanna Club games.

Well done to all and looking forward to next week and beyond.

The Lizard.
