Round Seven Midweek Pennant

Hello Bowlers,

The half-way mark has been reached and we have two of our teams in the four with the other team sitting in 5th spot, so Rosanna is in a good position to commence the return bouts next Tuesday, and to consolidate places in the finals.

Yesterday the Ones struggled at Moonee Valley and came away with only 2 points, which saw them drop out of the four into fifth possie.  Next week they will host Montmorency 2 at home, who are placed 8th, and it will give Rosanna a great opportunity to get back into the top four.

Gwenda Bail, Kevin Meade, Jeff Cook and Damian Crea, 20-24, -4.

Chris Ball, Tony Campbell-Burns, Mil Crea and Alan Mason, 13-32, -19.

Jack Dunbar, Margaret Hunt, Peter Livingstone and Warren Williams, 24-14, +10.

Rosanna 57, Moonee Valley 70, -13, 2 points.

The Second side played at home against City of Heidelberg and had a very good win with all rinks greeting the judge, gaining Rosanna 16 points and holding second place.  They come up against Ivanhoe 2 next week, at Ivanhoe, who are in 6th spot on 38 points.  Another good opportunity to push up the ladder.

Rob Barclay, Ed Sheean, John Aldridge and Jim Gregory, 26-13, +13.

Louisa Hemingway, Nicole Carriero, Paul Gregory (a late inclusion – thanks Paul) and Leo Bosso, 21-9, +12.

Robin Doherty, Colin Watson, Peter Bell and Glenn Lyons, 19-9, +10.

Rosanna 66, C of H, 31, +35.

The Third side went to Kingsbury, and found themselves playing on the grass green which came as a bit of a surprise, but a very pleasant one.  Two rinks got home by slender margins, however, enough to cover the third rink who fell short by one shot, in a see-sawing contest.  The 14 points gained puts Rosanna clearly on top with 103 points, 27 ahead of the nearest rival.  Next week they will play Bundoora 3, at home, who are placed 3rd on 70 points.

Noel Broadhurst, Russell Hyde, Ray Prestney and Kay Plain, 21-17, +4.

Kevin Nelson, Tony Canty, Ken Barr and Don Casey, 21-19, +2.

Terrye Meade, Lorraine Campbell, Phil Hynes and John Head, 17-18, -1.

Rosanna59, Kingsbury 54, +5.

The best winning rink honours went to Jim Gregory, John Aldridge, Eddie Sheean and Rob Barclay with 13 shots up.  Well done lads.

There was one milestone this week and congratulations are in order to Chris Ball who clocked up 100 midweek games for Rosanna.  Well done Rubber.

That’s it for this week, time to start thinking about next week.

Keep ’em rolling.
