Round Fourteen Midweek Pennant

Hello Bowlers.

It’s all done and we have been successful in getting all three teams into at least the first week of Finals. A very good result indeed. Credit is due to all players who have represented Rosanna in the Midweek comp, and to the Match Committee for ensuring stability throughout the season. We now have the task of performing well at the business end of the season and the Club wishes everyone involved in this exciting time, the very best for a strong finals campaign.

Although only the Third side had a win yesterday, our teams held their positions on the ladder, meaning that next Tuesday all three sides will play their games at Rosanna.

It would be a great thing for our members not playing, to turn up and support our teams, if you possibly can.

Side 1 played Moonee Valley and had only one successful rink.
Gwenda Bail, Kevin Meade, Jeff Cook and Damian Crea, 13-26, -13.
Chris Ball, Tony Campbell-Burns, Mil Crea and Alan Mason, 20-23, -3.
Jack Dunbar, Margaret Hunt, John Aldridge and Warren Williams, 20-19, +1.

Rosanna 53, Moonee Valley 68, -15, 2 points, 3rd on ladder. Next week play Preston-Reservoir at Rosanna.

Side 2 went to City of Heidelberg and one rink managed a tie whilst the other two rinks went down.
Rob Barclay, Eddie Sheean, Paul Gregory and Jim Gregory, 16-19, -3.
Paul Bassett, Nicole Carriero, Veronika Crea and Leo Bosso, 10-26, -16.
Robin Doherty, Ken Barr, Colin Watson and Peter Bell, 19-19, Tie.

Rosanna 45, City of Heidelberg 64, -19, finished 1st on ladder. Next Tuesday play City of Heidelberg at Rosanna.

Side 3 played Kingsbury and had it not been for one rink registering a very strong win, might have been in a bit of bother.
Lorraine Campbell, Russell Hyde, Ray Prestney and Kay Plain, 39-16, +23.
Alan Phillips, Tony Canty, Ralph Moulden and Don Casey, 12-23, -11.
Terrye Meade, Rob Hunt, Phil Hynes and John Head, 19-21, -2.

Rosanna 70, Kingsbury 60, +10, 1st on ladder. Next Tuesday play Bundoora at Rosanna.

The best winning rink was Kay Plain, Ray Prestney, Russell Hyde and Lorraine Campbell, with an excellent 23 shots up.

The one Milestone to be achieved yesterday was that of Peter Bell who played his 600th Club game. Well done Peter.

So folks, looking forward to a huge effort next week. The Club wishes you well and knows that everyone will give it their best shot.

The Lizard.
