Rosanna fronted up to Bundoora RSL today, at Montmorency, in the Section Final. The green was very slick and at the end of the day Bundoora came out winners by a small margin. The Rosanna team fought hard, however, were unable to hold the RSL crowd.
That is now the end of the season for Rosanna’s midweek teams, who played valiantly throughout the season.
It now comes down to this Saturday, when the remaining Rosanna team in Divisional finals, the No.5 side, plays at Doncaster against Blackburn North, in the Division 7 quarter final.
We wish our No.5 side the very best of luck in their barnstorming progress to do Rosanna proud.
If you can go to Doncaster, please do so and give the 5’s every encouragement.

Midweek Tuesday 25 January 2022.
Rosanna had one side up and two down in the Bowls Victoria Midweek Competion yesterday.
Side 1 hosted top of table City of Heidelberg, and overcame the opposition by 23 shots in a payback for earlier in the season, when it was an unfavourable result for Rosanna. Our losing rink only went down by 2 shots in a great comeback effort. The other two rinks won by 12 and 13 shots with the best winning rink honours going to Robin Doherty (lead), Margaret Hunt (second), John Aldridge (third) and Don Casey (skip).
The side is now 5th on the ladder on 70 points, five behind 4th placed Bundoora, and 10 behind the top three sides who are all equal on 80 points.
Next week they play away at Brunswick (6th).
Side 2 had a tough day at the office going down to Ivanhoe, at Ivanhoe, by 34 shots. They managed to eke two points out of the game, however, were overwhelmed by Ivanhoe’s other two rinks. The side is 15 points out of the four and has a chance of making finals if they can snare a couple of wins before season’s end.
Next week they will host 8th placed MCC.
Side 3 unfortunately had a disastrous day going down by 64 shots. They currently languish in bottom spot on the ladder and do not appear to have any chance of making finals.
Next week they will host Thornbury.
