Australian Open

A number of Rosanna Bowling Club members ventured north to play in the Australian Open last month.  Games were played on various greens around the Gold Coast vicinity in a large gathering of bowlers from Australia and internationally.

Our people played in the singles, pairs and fours with Aaron Van Haaften winning all his first round matches, but finding the opposition a little too strong in the the cut-throat second stanza.

John Aldridge and Ian Crawford teamed up with Andrew Bell (Airley Beach) and Paul Calvert (Invercargill, NZ) in the Fours and won four of their five games, losing the last game by an agonising one shot.  They did well enough to snare third place which was an excellent effort.

All who competed thoroughly enjoyed the experience and did RBC proud.
